Campus Crawl has to be one of the most memorable moments from junior year so far. You’re probably wondering what campus crawl is, so let me explain. Every year, the junior class at my school takes a trip up to the Bay Area to look at different colleges. This year we went to four different colleges which were UC Berkeley, San Jose State University, UC Santa Cruz, and Cal Poly SLO.

The most memorable moment from this trip was when my friends and I went to the beach near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. My friends and I had a fun time on the beach listening to music and watching the sunset, which was so beautiful. My thoughts on attending a four year college are the same as they were before the college trip. The reason for this is because I feel as if I were not to attend a four year college, I would have no direction. I know that if I attend a four year college, I will be more motivated to finish because I know that I will be able to have a profession after I graduate. Out of the four schools, my ranking from least to most likely to attend would be SJSU, Cal Poly, Berkeley, then Santa Cruz. To be honest, there was not really anything about SJSU that sparked my interest. Cal Poly didn’t have the major that I am interested in, and it also wasn’t as diverse as other schools which means that my social need of relatedness would not be met. Although Berkeley also does not have the major that I am interested in the campus was nice and it met my social need of relatedness because I saw different groups of people that expressed the same interests as me. Santa Cruz was beautiful and I loved the campus. The atmosphere felt really nice and it wasn’t as crowded when we visited compared to the other colleges. Overall, visiting each college was a fun experience and it really opened my eyes to thinking of what colleges I should apply to next year and what I am looking for in a college.
